Privacy

What happens to a night.

This is the plain version: what leaves your phone, how long it stays, who else sees it, and how to make all of it go away. A privacy decision nobody is told about buys no trust, so nothing here is hidden in a paragraph.

What I collect

Your recording, for as long as it takes to read it. Your transcript and the reading made from it. Your email address, name, and the time you asked to be reminded. Nothing else — there is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no tracking pixel, and no third-party session recording in the app.

How long the recording lives

The audio is deleted from storage the moment the reading is written — usually within a few minutes of you finishing. One exception: if a reading fails, the recording is kept so it can be tried again, because at that point it is your only copy.

You can ask me to keep your recordings instead. That switch is off for every account until you turn it on, and turning it back off deletes the ones being held.

How long everything else lives

Your transcript and the reading stay until you delete them. Deleting one night deletes its recording, transcript and reading together. Deleting your account deletes all of them, and the account with them — it is a real deletion, not a flag.

Who else sees it

Your recording and transcript are sent to a model provider to be transcribed and read. That is what makes the reading possible, and it is the only reason anything leaves my server.

I will not claim your data is never used to train shared models. That depends on a contract with the provider rather than on my code, and a promise I can't enforce is worth less than saying so plainly.

Where it is

Servers in the European Union. Model providers may process the transcript outside it.

Your rights

You can export or delete everything from inside the app, at any time, without asking anyone. If you would rather ask a person — or want a copy of what is held about you, a correction, or a complaint heard — write to the address below and you will get an answer.

Children

Sonorlog is not for children under 16, and I don't knowingly keep anything belonging to one.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect, rather than quietly updating a date at the top.
